Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Muscle Boy, Harlem, New York, USA by Leonard Freed. The price achieved of USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,219.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leonard Freed - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Selected images from Police Work, which sold at auction in October 2016 for USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,262.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Muscle Boy, Harlem, New York, USA von Leonard Freed zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.219,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Leonard Freed mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Selected images from Police Work beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.262,73) versteigert wurde.
