Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Suspect in the back of a police car, New York City by Leonard Freed was sold in the Photographs auction at Phillips in London in May 2019. The price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,952.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leonard Freed - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Selected images from Police Work, which sold at auction in October 2016 for USD 11,250.00 (€ 10,262.73).

Die Arbeit Suspect in the back of a police car, New York City von Leonard Freed wurde im Mai 2019 in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.952,24) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Leonard Freed mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Selected images from Police Work beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für USD 11.250,00 (€ 10.262,73) versteigert wurde.
