The work Eagle by Leonard Baskin was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in April 2011. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,747.18) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leonard Baskin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Isaacangel, which sold at auction in June 2000 for USD 18,800.00 (€ 19,696.18).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Eagle von Leonard Baskin kam im April 2011 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 6.747,18) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Leonard Baskin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Isaacangel beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für USD 18.800,00 (€ 19.696,18) versteigert wurde.
