In April 2008 Christies in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Indian Chest With Violin by Leon Francesco Morrocco. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,505.86), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Leon Francesco Morrocco have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunlight On Fishermen'S Houses, Procida, Bay Of Naples in August 2006 with an auction result of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,629.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im April 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Indian Chest With Violin von Leon Francesco Morrocco zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.505,86) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leon Francesco Morrocco auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunlight On Fishermen'S Houses, Procida, Bay Of Naples im August 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.629,23).
