Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still Life with Lantern and Yellow Curtain by Leon Francesco Morrocco was auctioned at Christies in London in October 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,169.96). Admittedly, works by Leon Francesco Morrocco have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunlight On Fishermen'S Houses, Procida, Bay Of Naples in August 2006 with an auction result of GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,629.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still Life with Lantern and Yellow Curtain von Leon Francesco Morrocco im Oktober 2011 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.169,96) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leon Francesco Morrocco auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunlight On Fishermen'S Houses, Procida, Bay Of Naples im August 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.629,23).
