In June 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction 20th Century British & Irish Art, which included the work Still Life With Sunflowers by Leon Francesco Morrocco. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,122.96), 37% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Leon Francesco Morrocco - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunlight On Fishermen'S Houses, Procida, Bay Of Naples, which sold at auction in August 2006 for GBP 13,200.00 (€ 19,629.23).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion 20th Century British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Sunflowers von Leon Francesco Morrocco zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.122,96) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Leon Francesco Morrocco mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunlight On Fishermen'S Houses, Procida, Bay Of Naples beobachtet, die im August 2006 für GBP 13.200,00 (€ 19.629,23) versteigert wurde.
