Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2002 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Stone Age illustration by Lawson Wood. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,292.50 (€ 1,984.05). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lawson Wood - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gran'pop starts a poultry farm, which sold at auction in December 2002 for GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,411.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stone Age illustration von Lawson Wood zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.292,50 (€ 1.984,05) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Lawson Wood mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gran'pop starts a poultry farm beobachtet, die im Dezember 2002 für GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.411,05) versteigert wurde.
