Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work 'Outside interference' by Lawson Wood was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 540.00 (€ 802.02). Admittedly, works by Lawson Wood have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gran'pop starts a poultry farm in December 2002 with an auction result of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,411.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit 'Outside interference' von Lawson Wood im Juli 2007 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 540,00 (€ 802,02) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lawson Wood auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gran'pop starts a poultry farm im Dezember 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.525,00 (€ 5.411,05).
