Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2018 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Art Contemporain Day Sale, which included the work Bonbon Marbre Rose Portugal Brillant by Laurence Jenkell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 35,000.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Laurence Jenkell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bonbon Aluminum Polimiroir in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 294,945.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Art Contemporain Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bonbon Marbre Rose Portugal Brillant von Laurence Jenkell zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 35.000,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Laurence Jenkell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bonbon Aluminum Polimiroir im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 294.945,09).
