LAURE ALBIN-GUILLOT (1879-1962) Marcelle Maurette, Ciels the complete artist's book comprising sixteen collotype prints, on wove paper, 1944, signed in pencil by the artist on each print, signed, inscribed, and dated by the artist, Marcelle Maurette and the editor Henri Colas in ink on the justification page (an unnumbered proof aside from the edition of 50), co-published by Chez Henri Colas, Éditeur, et Bourdeaux: Chez Rousseau Frères, Paris, loose (as issued), with the title and justification pages, each with full margins, in generally good condition, together with the original clamshell box with the printed title Overall: 13 1 ⁄ 4 x 10 5 ⁄ 8 x 1 1 ⁄ 2 in. (340 x 270 x 35 mm.)
Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April this year Christies in New York held the auction The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online, which included the work Marcelle Maurette, Ciels by Laure Albin-Guillot. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,386.00 (€ 1,255.43), 16% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Laure Albin-Guillot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orchidées, 1927Vintage Carbon Fresson Print On Metalised Golden Paper Flush-Mounted To Original Card. Signed. Stamped And With The Photographer'S Address Label And Exihibition Label On The Reverse. Mounted. in May 2013 with an auction result of EUR 32,500.00.

Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marcelle Maurette, Ciels von Laure Albin-Guillot zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.386,00 (€ 1.255,43) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Laure Albin-Guillot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orchidées, 1927Vintage Carbon Fresson Print On Metalised Golden Paper Flush-Mounted To Original Card. Signed.
