Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Post-War & Contemporary Art, which included the work Silver Curtain, 1997 by Larry Sultan. It changed hands for a price of USD 7,650.00 (€ 6,325.97) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Larry Sultan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work My Mother Posing for Me from Pictures of Home in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,928.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Silver Curtain, 1997 von Larry Sultan zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.650,00 (€ 6.325,97) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Larry Sultan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit My Mother Posing for Me from Pictures of Home im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.928,48).
