A top price for Lamar Peterson - as previously expected
This work without title by Lamar Peterson was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in May 2019. The price achieved of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,587.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, this work without title is the most expensive artwork by Lamar Peterson that we have observed at auctions so far.

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Lamar Peterson wurde im Mai 2019 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.587,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist dieses Werk ohne Titel das teuerste Kunstwerk von Lamar Peterson, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
