This artwork by Lai Shaoqi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Red Forest (Hainan Dao) sold for HKD 525,000.00 (€ 55,496.56) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lai Shaoqi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flowers, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 1,770,000.00 (€ 194,809.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lai Shaoqi erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Red Forest (Hainan Dao) für HKD 525.000,00 (€ 55.496,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 250.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lai Shaoqi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flowers beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 1.770.000,00 (€ 194.809,41) versteigert wurde.
