In May this year Christies in Cologne held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Pine Mountain by Lai Shaoqi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 403,200.00 (€ 48,327.99), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Lai Shaoqi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flowers in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 1,770,000.00 (€ 194,809.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Christies in Köln die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pine Mountain von Lai Shaoqi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 403.200,00 (€ 48.327,99) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lai Shaoqi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flowers im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.770.000,00 (€ 194.809,41).
