Upper estimate price exceeded by 80 %.
This artwork by Lai Shaoqi achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in April this year. In the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy sold for HKD 90,000.00 (€ 91,907.61) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lai Shaoqi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flowers, which sold at auction in October 2017 for HKD 1,770,000.00 (€ 194,809.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 80 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lai Shaoqi erzielte im April diesen Jahres bei POLY in Grand Hyatt Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy für HKD 90.000,00 (€ 91.907,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lai Shaoqi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flowers beobachtet, die im Oktober 2017 für HKD 1.770.000,00 (€ 194.809,41) versteigert wurde.
