A top price for Kumi Sugai - as previously expected
The work KAGURA (Sacred Music and Dance) by Kumi Sugai was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2015. The price achieved of USD 293,000.00 (€ 277,409.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, KAGURA (Sacred Music and Dance) is the most expensive artwork by Kumi Sugai that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit KAGURA (Sacred Music and Dance) von Kumi Sugai kam im November 2015 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 293.000,00 (€ 277.409,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist KAGURA (Sacred Music and Dance) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Kumi Sugai, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
