Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June last year Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale, which included the work La Planète Mercuse No. 2 by Kumi Sugai. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 302,400.00 (€ 36,799.85), 21% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kumi Sugai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work KAGURA (Sacred Music and Dance) in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 293,000.00 (€ 277,409.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Planète Mercuse No. 2 von Kumi Sugai zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 302.400,00 (€ 36.799,85) und damit 21% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kumi Sugai auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit KAGURA (Sacred Music and Dance) im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 293.000,00 (€ 277.409,58).
