Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Knox Martin could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in August 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Summer RefreshmentsPrints & Multiples Online auction, the work Alice In Wonderland: Two Etchings changed hands for USD 102.00 (€ 92.82) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Knox Martin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in February 2007 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 22,675.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Knox Martin konnte im August 2019 bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Summer RefreshmentsPrints & Multiples Online wechselte die Arbeit Alice In Wonderland: Two Etchings für USD 102,00 (€ 92,82) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Knox Martin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 22.675,74).
