Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono, which included the work Edo Period (1615-1868) by Kikukawa Eizan. The price achieved of USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,101.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Kikukawa Eizan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Haru no raku (Spring pleasures) in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,869.90).
