This artwork by Kikukawa Eizan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in September 2021. In the Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono auction, the work Edo Period (1615-1868) sold for USD 3,187.50 (€ 2,753.30) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kikukawa Eizan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Haru no raku (Spring pleasures), which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,869.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kikukawa Eizan erzielte im September 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono wurde die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868) für USD 3.187,50 (€ 2.753,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kikukawa Eizan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Haru no raku (Spring pleasures) beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 13.200,00 (€ 9.869,90) versteigert wurde.
