Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Three woodblock prints by Kikukawa Eizan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,211.25 (€ 1,091.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Kikukawa Eizan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Haru no raku (Spring pleasures) in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,869.90).
