In November 2019 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session, which included the work Tea Ceremony in the Yesterday's Hermitage - with Mr. Kagekiyo by Key Hiraga. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 137,500.00 (€ 15,947.45), 72% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Key Hiraga have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fenetre (Window) in March 2018 with an auction result of HKD 875,000.00 (€ 90,482.95).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tea Ceremony in the Yesterday's Hermitage - with Mr. Kagekiyo von Key Hiraga zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 137.500,00 (€ 15.947,45) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Key Hiraga auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fenetre (Window) im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 875.000,00 (€ 90.482,95).
