Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Evening Auction, which included the work Untitled (Stono Drawing) by Kerry James Marshall. Here, the upper estimate of USD 500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 528,200.00 (€ 433,163.85). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kerry James Marshall achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Past Times in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 21,114,500.00 (€ 18,092,973.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Stono Drawing) von Kerry James Marshall zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 500.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 528.200,00 (€ 433.163,85) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kerry James Marshall erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Past Times im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.114.500,00 (€ 18.092.973,44).
