Auction result misses estimated price range
In October this year a collector was able to acquire the work Furungle 1 by Kenny Scharf for USD 4,480.00 (€ 4,239.21). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples at Bonhams in Paris and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kenny Scharf achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work City of the Future in May last year with an auction result of USD 983,175.00 (€ 916,200.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Furungle 1 von Kenny Scharf für USD 4.480,00 (€ 4.239,21) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples bei Bonhams in Paris erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kenny Scharf erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit City of the Future im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 983.175,00 (€ 916.200,73).
