Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Straw Hat by Keith Carter was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,792.50 (€ 1,544.06). Admittedly, works by Keith Carter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fireflies in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,438.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Straw Hat von Keith Carter im Oktober 2003 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.792,50 (€ 1.544,06) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Keith Carter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fireflies im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.438,87).
