Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in New York held the auction Japanese and Korean Art, which included the work Three woodblock prints by Keisai Eisen. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,402.50 (€ 1,264.31) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Keisai Eisen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Courtesan in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 23,900.00 (€ 19,247.81).
