Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Edo period (1615-1868), 19th century by Keisai Eisen was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Bonhams in New York in March last year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,657.50 (€ 1,494.19). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Keisai Eisen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Courtesan in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 23,900.00 (€ 19,247.81).
