Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Unknown by Keisai Eisen was sold in the From Harunobu to Hasui | Japanese Prints across the centuries auction at Bonhams in London in May this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,280.00 (€ 1,489.29). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Keisai Eisen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Courtesan in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 23,900.00 (€ 19,247.81).
