Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mantra No 5 by Kazuya Sakai was sold in the Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2014. It changed hands for a price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 30,149.54) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kazuya Sakai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Sky of Texas, which sold at auction in September last year for USD 107,100.00 (€ 109,475.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mantra No 5 von Kazuya Sakai wurde im November 2014 in der Auktion Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 30.149,54) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kazuya Sakai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Sky of Texas beobachtet, die im September letzten Jahres für USD 107.100,00 (€ 109.475,62) versteigert wurde.
