In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Evening Auction, which included the work I Walk Without Echo by Kay Sage. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,071,000.00 (€ 998,043.05), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kay Sage have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Passage in February 2014 with an auction result of GBP 4,338,500.00 (€ 5,263,644.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit I Walk Without Echo von Kay Sage zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.071.000,00 (€ 998.043,05) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kay Sage auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Passage im Februar 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.338.500,00 (€ 5.263.644,43).
