Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Palimpsest by Kay Rosen was auctioned at Phillips in New York in June 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 750.00 (€ 610.20). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kay Rosen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Halfull in March 2014 with an auction result of USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,712.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Palimpsest von Kay Rosen im Juni 2010 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 750,00 (€ 610,20) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kay Rosen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Halfull im März 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.712,13).
