It achieved a price of USD 5,019.00 (€ 5,080.47), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kawai Gyokudo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Suikyo (Gorge) in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 47,000.00 (€ 54,060.27).

Die Arbeit Hakukyu (White dove) von Kawai Gyokudo kam im September 2002 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 5.019,00 (€ 5.080,47) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kawai Gyokudo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Suikyo (Gorge) im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.000,00 (€ 54.060,27).
