Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Red Rectangle (Design For The Ceiling Of The Krasny Theatre) by Kazimir Malevich was sold in the Russian Art Evening auction at Sothebys in London in November 2007. The price achieved of GBP 66,500.00 (€ 93,117.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kazimir Malevich achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Suprematist Composition in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 85,812,500.00 (€ 73,532,562.13).

Die Arbeit Red Rectangle (Design For The Ceiling Of The Krasny Theatre) von Kazimir Malevich wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Russian Art Evening bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 66.500,00 (€ 93.117,20) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden.
