Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March this year Christies in London held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Dreaming of Nelcotte by Karyn Lyons. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 21,420.00 (€ 24,369.39). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Karyn Lyons - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Pajama Party, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 94,500.00 (€ 88,062.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dreaming of Nelcotte von Karyn Lyons zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 21.420,00 (€ 24.369,39) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Karyn Lyons mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Pajama Party beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 94.500,00 (€ 88.062,62) versteigert wurde.
