Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Karyn Lyons achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in July this year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art auction, the work The Reader sold for USD 25,400.00 (€ 23,049.00) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Karyn Lyons - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Pajama Party, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 94,500.00 (€ 88,062.62).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Karyn Lyons erzielte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit The Reader für USD 25.400,00 (€ 23.049,00) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Karyn Lyons mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Pajama Party beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 94.500,00 (€ 88.062,62) versteigert wurde.
