In November 2002 Christies in London held the auction JAPANESE ART AND DESIGN, which included the work Unknown by Kano Tanyu. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,377.50 (€ 8,420.89), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kano Tanyu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rural landscape with oxen grazing in September 2007 with an auction result of USD 61,000.00 (€ 42,900.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im November 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion JAPANESE ART AND DESIGN durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Kano Tanyu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.377,50 (€ 8.420,89) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kano Tanyu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rural landscape with oxen grazing im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 61.000,00 (€ 42.900,34).
