This artwork by Kadhim Haider achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in November 2021. In the Middle Eastern 20th and 21st Century Art auction, the work He is destroyed that he may then return (from 'The Martyr's Epic' series) sold for GBP 118,750.00 (€ 139,423.67) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Kadhim Haider have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Al Qamar in May this year with an auction result of GBP 635,400.00 (€ 739,292.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 98 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kadhim Haider erzielte im November 2021 bei Christies einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Middle Eastern 20th and 21st Century Art wurde die Arbeit He is destroyed that he may then return (from 'The Martyr's Epic' series) für GBP 118.750,00 (€ 139.423,67) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kadhim Haider auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Al Qamar im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 635.400,00 (€ 739.292,13).
