Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Living The Past #04 by Jumaldi Alfi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 175,000.00 (€ 19,716.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jumaldi Alfi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Colour Guide Serie: Homage To Martin Kippenberger, which sold at auction in October 2008 for HKD 500,000.00 (€ 50,859.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Living The Past #04 von Jumaldi Alfi zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 175.000,00 (€ 19.716,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jumaldi Alfi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Colour Guide Serie: Homage To Martin Kippenberger beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für HKD 500.000,00 (€ 50.859,49) versteigert wurde.
