In April this year Christies in New York held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Among the Multitude III by Julie Mehretu. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,788.00 (€ 4,336.96), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julie Mehretu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Ground (Deep Light) in April 2019 with an auction result of HKD 44,209,000.00 (€ 5,032,271.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Among the Multitude III von Julie Mehretu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.788,00 (€ 4.336,96) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julie Mehretu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Black Ground (Deep Light) im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 44.209.000,00 (€ 5.032.271,67).
