Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Julie Mehretu could be acquired at Phillips in Hong Kong in November this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the New Now & Design auction, the work Six Bardos: Last Breath changed hands for HKD 508,000.00 (€ 59,611.29) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 550,000.00 – 750,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julie Mehretu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Ground (Deep Light) in April 2019 with an auction result of HKD 44,209,000.00 (€ 5,032,271.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Julie Mehretu konnte im November diesen Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion New Now & Design wechselte die Arbeit Six Bardos: Last Breath für HKD 508.000,00 (€ 59.611,29) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 550.000,00 – 750.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julie Mehretu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Black Ground (Deep Light) im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 44.209.000,00 (€ 5.032.271,67).
