Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Judy Dater achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in October 2011. In the The Arc of Photography: A Private East Coast Collection auction, the work Imogen and Twinka at Yosemite sold for USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,618.13) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Judy Dater; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Imogen and Twinka at Yosemite, 1974 sold at auction in February 2008 with the realized price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 9,876.87).
