This artwork by Joseph Yoakum achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2019. In the Outsider and Vernacular Art auction, the work Bitter Root Range near Boise Idaho, November 1967 sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,461.15) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Joseph Yoakum; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Mt Nev De Samaja of Las Andes Mtn Range Near La Paz Bolovia South America, 1964 sold at auction in February last year with the realized price of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,046.33).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Joseph Yoakum erzielte im Januar 2019 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art wurde die Arbeit Bitter Root Range near Boise Idaho, November 1967 für USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.461,15) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Joseph Yoakum; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Mt Nev De Samaja of Las Andes Mtn Range Near La Paz Bolovia South America, 1964 im Februar letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.046,33).
