Auction result well in line with expectations
In January this year Christies held the auction Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Sangre De Cristo Range Near Las Vegas by Joseph Yoakum. It changed hands for a price of USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,481.30) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Yoakum have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mt Nev De Samaja of Las Andes Mtn Range Near La Paz Bolovia South America, 1964 in February last year with an auction result of USD 22,500.00 (€ 20,046.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar diesen Jahres führte Christies die Auktion Outsider and Vernacular Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sangre De Cristo Range Near Las Vegas von Joseph Yoakum zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.481,30) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Yoakum auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mt Nev De Samaja of Las Andes Mtn Range Near La Paz Bolovia South America, 1964 im Februar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 22.500,00 (€ 20.046,33).
