This artwork by Joseph Raffael achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Los Angeles in December 2000. In the MODERN, POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART auction, the work Three Fish, Blue Water sold for USD 8,225.00 (€ 8,761.18) - well above the upper estimate of USD 4,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Raffael - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lily Shadow and Reflection, which sold at auction in July 2016 for USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,101.00).
