It achieved a price of USD 5,640.00 (€ 6,007.67), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 61%. Admittedly, works by Joseph Raffael have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lily Shadow and Reflection in July 2016 with an auction result of USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,101.00).

Die Arbeit New Lily; Celebration; Carol's Magic Garden; and Carol's Magic Garden von Joseph Raffael wurde im Dezember 2000 in der Auktion MODERN, POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY PRINTS bei Christies in Los Angeles versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 5.640,00 (€ 6.007,67) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 61%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Raffael auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lily Shadow and Reflection im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 29.101,00).
