It changed hands for a price of GBP 750.00 (€ 954.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Horlor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hauling in the nets (illustrated); and Fishermen on the coast, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 2,040.00 (€ 3,002.00).

Die Arbeit Figures crossing a bridge before a cottage von Joseph Horlor wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion The Arthur Ackermann and Peter Johnson Collection: A Connoisseur's Choice bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 954,03) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Horlor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hauling in the nets (illustrated); and Fishermen on the coast beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 2.040,00 (€ 3.002,00) versteigert wurde.
