Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work A Cottage Beside A Rocky Mountain Stream by Joseph Horlor. The price achieved of GBP 384.00 (€ 560.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Horlor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hauling in the nets (illustrated); and Fishermen on the coast in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,040.00 (€ 3,002.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Cottage Beside A Rocky Mountain Stream von Joseph Horlor zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 384,00 (€ 560,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Horlor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hauling in the nets (illustrated); and Fishermen on the coast im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.040,00 (€ 3.002,00).
