Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work A view along the Rhine by Joseph Horlor. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 619.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Joseph Horlor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hauling in the nets (illustrated); and Fishermen on the coast in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,040.00 (€ 3,002.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view along the Rhine von Joseph Horlor zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 420,00 (€ 619,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Joseph Horlor auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hauling in the nets (illustrated); and Fishermen on the coast im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.040,00 (€ 3.002,00).
