Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The »bidding war« ended at USD 69,300.00 (€ 64,579.26), 16% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joseph Henry Sharp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Medicine Teepee in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 962,082.26).

Die Arbeit Blackfeet Teepees, Glacier Park von Joseph Henry Sharp wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Stewards of the West: The Knobloch Collection bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 69.300,00 (€ 64.579,26) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joseph Henry Sharp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Medicine Teepee im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.497.000,00 (€ 962.082,26).
