Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Joseph Henry Sharp could be acquired at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of G. Andrew Bjurman auction, the work Recounting Brave Deeds 20 x 30 in. framed 26 x 36 in. changed hands for USD 113,775.00 (€ 110,215.05) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Henry Sharp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Medicine Teepee in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,497,000.00 (€ 962,082.26).
